About This
My husband and I have lived in a different place every year since we have met. We have lived in Kalamazoo, Flushing, Grand Blanc, and Durand, Michigan; Hermitage and Carnegie, Pennsylvania; and just recently, Newnan, Georgia. Why? It’s a long story that I would love to tell you in person over a pitcher of beer or glass of wine. Anyway, we don’t want to move anymore, so the next time we move, we intend to move to a place that we want to stay for a while. Yes, we’ve said this before, but this time we mean it.
So why the blog now? I realize that few families have the chance, or luck, to live in so many different places within such a short time span, so I thought it would be good to write about it. I mean, it’s kind of like being on an extended vacation, right? We will go with that. Also, it is very easy for me to stay home with my daughter all day and not really go anywhere. Making a list and having a plan gets me out of the house and seeing things.
So who am I? You might already know, but if you don’t, here are the highlights:
- My name is Tegan D’Arcangelis Baiocchi. I grew up in Flushing, Michigan.
- I have a BA in Public History from WMU and an MS in Historic Preservation from EMU.
- I am married, and we have a 1-year-old daughter named Lucca.
- I’ve worked a lot of different jobs, including: *architectural historian, asst. program coordinator, civil war diary transcriber, fitting room clearner, music store clerk, and piano teacher. I’m currently still working as an architectural historian, though remotely from home.
- I love genealogy. You can see my family tree page here. I am also available for hire to do genealogy research.
- I am afraid of spiders.
- And now I’m afraid of cockroaches, too.
Also, there are a few posts on here that are left over from when this blog had a different focus to it back in 2009. Just go with it. Thanks!
